The security stuff needs some fixing. I was able to connect right into SLJ and read posts. Now I'm composing a post while not logged in.
It would also be nice if the search engines didn't index this site...

By design, this new site isn't intended to be 100% invisible --> we are trying to open up the forum to the attraction of new members and fresh outlooks and opinions. As such, there are public sections, *but* there are also private sections (which you could not see or post to as a Guest). * Guests can see and post to "The Greeting Hall" forum category, as you did. * Guests can see "The Commons Room" category, but cannot post to it. * New Members can see and post to "The Greeting Hall" and "The Commons Room" categories only. * Full Members can see and post to all forum categories, including the private ones. Yes, web crawlers will go through the site, just as they did the FTIO site, BUT will not have access to the private areas with restricted access (as it was with the MAAN forum). ETA: the primary reason for allowing Guests to post at all (on the single Introductions and Greetings board) is so that folks who are having trouble registering or activating an account, or who are having trouble gaining access to an existing account (password problems, etc.) can still talk to us (and get an administrator's attention). Yep, I'm sure we'll get a few trolls too, but they're easy to delete. -- Bagheera |
